摘要:Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) and Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) both are the mobility management solution proposed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to support IP Mobility. There are various types of parameters which have been proposed and used to describe the system performance in the form of mobility of MIPv6 and HMIPv6. In this paper a comparative study has been described in which the performance of MIPv6 and HMIPv6 with Intelligent Mobility Support (IMS) scheme in terms of cost has been demonstrated using an analytical model. Numerical results demonstrate the performance of MIPv6 and HMIPv6 when certain parameters are changed.
