摘要:Power Amplifiers are often employed in the transmitter section of various digital communication systems in order to boost the signal power before passing it to antenna. It is crucial in terms that the received Signal to Noise ratio at the receiver should be high without which the signal would not be detectable. These Power Amplifiers need to have a very high gain and should add little distortion to the signal. But this is not practically possible as increasing the power efficiency of the signal would increase the distortion added to the signal and drives the device into non-linearity. For an efficient communication system we need to increase the power efficiency of the system without making the system non-linear. This linearity is achieved with the help of various predistortion techniques with the power amplifiers to linearise both the gain and phase response of the system. Various predistortion techniques are feedforward, feedback and digital predistortion. Different Predistorter architectures for these techniques have been presented. Adaption based Digital Predistorter with lookup table method has been proposed for linearization of RF Amplifiers with memory effects by continuously updating the coefficients of lookup table with gain and phase responses of the input signal and adaptive feedback signal.
