摘要:This paper shows the analysis of a component part of foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova, which is the import. It is based on information which reveals the fl ows with the major weight in the researched fi eld in 2004. The Analysis of Major Components (AMC) method was applied as a method of multidimensional statistical analysis. It underlines similarities and differences between the groups of goods imported in the Republic of Moldova from its major country-partners. Additionally, it identifi es the variables “responsible” for the most obvious proximities and oppositions. Due to the fact that the AMC enables to synthesize the information included in a large-size table into a graph which is easy to interpret, its application produced certain diagrams which show the similarities and the differences between the characteristics of the major country-partners of the Republic of Moldova. Moreover, this paper emphasizes the most widely-spread groups of merchandise imported from these countries, thus identifying each country specialization in the classifi cation of the types of offered products.
