摘要：O texto propõe inicialmente uma releitura do verbo grego euroéô (ter um curso fácil, abundante, etc.) a partir do oitavo capítulo do Encheirídion (Manual) de Epicteto. A tradução do termo euroéô por “prosperar” lançará luzes para se compreender a relação complexa existente na filosofia de Epicteto entre o homem e o ser à sua volta, demonstrando o papel da máxima gnóthi sautón (conhece-te a ti mesmo) no caminho ascético de conquista da paz do coração.
其他摘要：This paper proposes initially a reinterpretation of the Greek verb euroéô (have an easy course, abundant, etc.) from the eighth chapter of Epictetus’s Encheirídion. The translation of the term euroéô for "prosper" throw lights to understand the complex relationship that exists in the philosophy of Epictetus between man and being around him, demonstrating the role of maximum gnóthi sautón (know-thyself) in the ascetic way of gaining peace of heart.
