Many researchers have reported on the various uses of Moringa oleifera seeds as coagulant and coagulant aid in the last 20 years. Moringa oleifera coagulant has been found to have high coagulation activity only for high turbidity water. Extracts of seeds from the Moringa oleifera tree have been found to be one of the most effective clarifiers. The sludge left over from the water after treatment can also be used as a bio-fertilizer/bio-compost which has been shown to increase yields of other staple food crops. Moringa leaves can also be used very effectively as an animal feed. Its seeds yield 38-40% edible oil known as Ben Oil.
