摘要：After reviewing the establishment, rise and fall of gold mining in Minas Gerais, the author examines the evolution, in the course of the period 1719-1826, of the marriages, deaths and baptisms in the Parish "Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Antonio Dias", one of two parishes then existing in Vila Rica. Also it is established the relationship between the demographic variables and the economic evolution of the village.
