摘要：Currently there are emerging new paradigms related to the preservation of materials of Higher Education Institutions undergraduate and graduate courses. One such experience occurred in the establishment of the Memory Center of the Department of Physical Education at UFPR (CEMEDEF-UFPR), which enabled the development of subsidies for a successful intervention regarding historiographical research in Physical Education, Sports, Leisure and of the Culture of the Movement. In this context, this article aims to describe the emergence and the development of the CEMEDEF, using the actual historical documentation of this Center, as well as the testimony of its main articulators.
