  • 摘要:Elite sport of disabled persons is a very demanding research area in view of a multidisciplinary approach. The goal of the research was to determine the magnitude and the trend of the relations between the measured motor abilities and anthropometric characteristics. Six tests of basic motor abilities have been measured, as well as three tests of the specific motor abilities and six anthropometric dimensions. This research covers the athletes (N=42) with physical disability which have been integrated into a systematic programme of training and competition in the wheelchair basketball. The relations between variables for the evaluation of motor abilities and anthropometric characteristics of wheelchair basketball players were tested by means of the canonical correlation analysis. The standard descriptive procedures were used to obtain the standardization of results and their distribution. High correlation coefficients have been noticed among the results of the tests which measure explosive strength and co-ordination. By application of the canonical correlation analysis only one significant factor was determined, best characterized by measures of the body fat, the explosive strength and the agility. This research confirmed that morphologic characteristics affect some motor abilities. The results are valuable even more being collected from persons with disabilities, distinctive group of wheelchair basketball players. They are rarely object of research, so those results will contribute to better explanation of different aspects of sport for disabled persons.
