摘要：The aim of this article on the voluminous work by Sir James Steuart (1713-80), An Inquiry into the Principles of Political Oeconomy, 1767, is, after making reference to its various editions, and then pointing out some notable facts in its author's life, to discuss where the main characteristics of the book lie, which may be summarized in the following five ways.
