摘要：Capturing the flavor of the speech of possession gods (tutelary spirits), through transcription and translation, and juxtaposing and contrasting it with that of humans poses special challenges for the ethnographer. Two chapter-fragments from the recently published Travels with Tooy1 exemplify my own attempt to deal with these problems. Some brief introductory materials can provide necessary background for the texts themselves.
