Palliative Care is a multi professional practice that seeks to provide for the patient with no chance of healing a full service, which integrates all dimensions of being, in the purpose to achieve a better quality of life for both, patient and family; considering that the consequences caused by illness brings intense suffering that affects not only the patient, but all close to them. This research is a literature review, published in the last five years, with special interest on the role of psychologists in the Palliative Care team along the cancer patient; aiming to bring elements that contributes for the practice of psychologists in this context. As a result of this analysis, it is observed a lack of thesis or materials that specifically speaks about the role of psychologists, as an integrant of this team, as well as how occurs theirs interventions for both patient and family; and yet, in what those interventions are different from the practice of others health professionals.
