  • 摘要:An RNA-DNA copolymer was isolated from Escherichia coli infected with bacteriophage T4. The RNA and DNA are covalently linked, and in the same polynucleotide strand. The DNA of the copolymer hybridizes specifically to the left strand of phage T4 DNA. The copolymer is produced in cells infected with amber mutants of phage T4 deficient in DNA replication and is not inhibited by the addition of chloramphenicol.
