Two indigenous myths separated by time and space share the central theme of incest between mother and son. One was told by the Yamana from the Tierra del Fuego, in the beginning of the twentieth century, whilst the other comes from the Maxacali from Minas Gerais, and was published by them in 2005. The stories were registered, translated and told in very different ways. Delving into them provides a basis from which we can gain an insight into how the Indians imagine love, how it touches us and what it reveals.
