    The present study aimed at analyzing the performance and learning types of subjects at various age levels in paired-associate learning. 83 subjects, each of whom was 5, 7, 9, 11, or 13 years old, par ticipated in the experiment. TABLE 2 shows the details of subject number in each condition. Two different tasks of P-A (paired-associate) Iearning were employed. One was made up of six picture stimuli, four of which were associated with a com-mon color label as a response, the other consisted of nine stimuli, six of which were paired wit.h a common response (see TABLE 1). These P-A tasks were done as a socalled "ball hunting game". The balls were color circles, each of which was covered with a stimulus respectively. All that subjects had to do was make a correct guess about a response when stimulus was presen-ted.
