摘要:For many years there have been investigations to clarify the relationship
between economic growth and energy input in manufacturing processes. The
extreme importance of energy for world economies has been apparent in the
last five decades, especially as a result of the two energy crises in 1973 and 1979.
Investigations have revealed a strong correlation between economic growth and
energy consumption. Contributors have tried to establish whether this relationship
is in fact causal, and if so, if it runs from energy towards the rate of economic
growth or vice versa. Also, the existence of feedback between these two
categories cannot be excluded.
