  • 摘要:This paper presents, briefly, some of the challenges that Elementary Teachers face in the specific range of teaching Reading Comprehension strategies. Between decoding and reading comprehension trainings there’s a very important way to track when our goal is to teach children how to read. Starting in 2006, PNEP (Programa Nacional de Ensino do Português) brought recent research in reading and comprehension skills to the fore and this spotlight changed teaching practices. Thus, the spreading of these investigations and the application of new practices in this field have enabled a renewal of methodologies in what concerns teaching in elementary schools.
