    There are three steps in typical method of teaching English; introduction, reading materials, and drill. Many difficulties can be expected when the programmed instruction is introduced at the step of introduction. But, it is effective when applied to the drill of writing. And it is more practical for teachers to have programmes which follow the line of textbooks closely.
