摘要:the mid-1990s, a group of Latin American intellectuals brought together by Anibal Quijano, Enrique Dússel and Walter Mignolo created the "Modernity/ Coloniality/Decoloniality Project." The intellectual group which makes up the project, have proposed to examine the phenomenon of modernity from the historic-cultural experience of Latin America. To accomplish this, the group has been developing a conceptual model which seeks to critically rethink global social structures, based on the relationships between power and knowledge from the historical formation of the capitalist/modernist world system. First of all, this article explores the historical basis of the "Modernity/ Coloniality/ Decoloniality Project." Secondly, it presents the most important epistemological proposals and conceptual categories derived from the project. Finally, it suggests how these ideas contribute to making anthropological reflection more profound.
