摘要:In this work, we recover the perspective of Durkheim’s analysis, who thinks the religious phenomenon both as a projection of social relations and as a source of norm to society. More specifically, we describe, through the ethnography of Friday, how the hierarchy and the disputes of power experienced by the town of Mariana are designed in their religious life. For this purpose, we base our work on a wide range of researches, which included fieldwork, documentary and interviews, through which to observe how, from an intense process of urbanization occurred among the decades of 1970-1980, the city saw its scene marked by a radical socio-spatial polarization, involving the population already established and the newly arrived contingent. In our view, this polarization reflected so crucial in the religious life of the city, being religion not only a projection of this context, but the privileged place where the disputes and dilemmas of this society perform and update itself
