摘要:School violence has been the subject of growing concern in the last two decades, there is a large increase in research on the topic, especially on one particular type of school violence - bullying.
Bullying can be defined as an action in which one or more individuals assaulted physically, verbally or emotionally another person. The phenomenon presents itself as a repeating pattern of physical and psychological intimidation, intended to cause discomfort, dominate socially (and physically) each other and can demonstrate to the social group. Conflicts from the bullying affect the formal and informal relationships between students can reach positions of aggression and violence.
Considering these aspects, the research was outlined in order to identify, understand the scale of the problem and analyze the level of bullying in a number of school cluster the Sub-Region of Health of Portugal, in north-eastern Portugal. It also aims to realize who are the children ask for help in a situation of victimization as a support network is important to draw lines of the intervention program.
The results show that 36.4% of students’ respondents said they suffered aggression, one, two or more times. Note that the majority of violence occurs in the playground. Finally, we emphasize that more than 70% of students surveyed indicated assess the presence of teachers and staff especially in the environment of the playground.
