摘要:Results from a sample of 285 professionals coming from health and
educational organizations are presented. The goal of this research was
to identify the relationships between burnout (emotional exhaustion,
depersonalization and lack of accomplishment) and looking for
another job. These professionals are very important personnel for any
country and as such are of interest to behavioral researchers since
tasks involve dealing with other people which leads to intense
demanding situations. If workers are subject to heavy stress they may
look for another job which means not only losing human capital for
organizations but also diminishing quality of working life. Results
indicate that health professionals were more prone to leave their jobs
than education personnel; this was true also for health workers in
Guadalajara (a large city) when compared with Zamora (a smaller
city).
