摘要：The continuous transformation the economy faces, requires the existence of an educated population, able to create and disseminate knowledge. Moreover, the governments dealing with a rapidly increasing number of students, in the conditions of limited resources, has resulted in changes, both into the management and funding systems of higher education. In this context, the paper aims at identifying the main sources of financing higher education according to the beneficiaries of the educational system, and also at identifying the characteristics of the funding systems, mainly from public funds.
