摘要:Since the late 1980s, indigenous tribes have been using audiovisual technology in their communities' schools, and replacing the civilizing, historically imposed school model with Indigenous Schools. These schools are organized and managed essentially by teachers and their communities. This article aims at presenting and analyzing one particular indigenous experience: the shooting of educational videos as a didactical-pedagogical support in community education. To do such, it counts on data collected throughout an ethnographical work developed during the year of 2004, in the Rio das Mortes Indigenous Territory, of the Xavante ethnicity, in the state of Mato Grosso. The different uses of the audiovisual resource made by this community, in particular those related to indigenous teachers. The incorporation of audiovisual technology in this context contributes to the intercultural dialogue and to the strengthening of the ethnical identity built by the tribe itself.
