摘要:The participation of researchers in a social movement allows an understanding and a creation of new meanings for the knowledge produced by that experience. This knowledge only makes sense when lived from within the group and the reality of the subjects who experience the needs affecting their day-to-day life. The article addresses this theme, derived from an intense personal experience, seeking to reveal meanings that a social movement assumes when dealing with the new needs of the poor, whose lack of rights is still visible in the 1990s. In the course of this exploration, forms of knowledge and power emerge, challenging the comprehension of some categories – “struggle” and “party” for example – beyond the limits of the social movement. These categories appear essential for a broadening of the field of youth and adult education, and of the possibilities of transforming day-to-day life through the historical action of subjects.
