摘要:This paper has the purpose to identify if the modernization of the agriculture in the
state of Mato Grosso, happened between 1980 and 2005, modified the profile of income
distribution in the state. For so much, there are examined aspects of the theoretical
conceptions concerning income and the measures of its distribution, technical progress,
agriculture modernization; and evidences of that modernization and of the evolution of
income distribution. The adopted hypothesis is that the modernization of the local agriculture
resulted in the increase of the inequality level in the distribution of the generated income. A
robust economical growth of the agricultural section is evidenced in the recent years, in spite
of the indicators of income and others to it related little modified in the analysed period. Such
results didn't allow that one can categorically state, as formulated in the initial hypothesis that
the situation of the distribution of income worsened during the period under analysis. They
allowed, however, to testify that either got better. It was concluded that, under the adopted theoretical perspective, economical growth in the capitalist economy doesn't necessarily
implicate better distribution of income and that mitigate the differences/distances of
appropriation of income among the social classes is a task that should be carried out by the
governments
