摘要：The archaeological sites at Pompeii and Herculaneum, since the first findings that occurred almost two centuries ago, were a source of inspiration to Europe´s artistic and intellectual milieu. But the passion for ancient Rome, the possibility of repopulating through the arts its streets, found, also here in Brazil, its adherents: that is what we aim to present in this article, which is focused on the neo-Pompeian production of Pedro Weingärtner.
