摘要:U.S. exports of processed food
and beverages have been
growing faster than exports
of raw agricultural commodities,
and now account for over half of
total agricultural exports. Food
processors can access international
markets by exporting products from
their plants located in the United
States, or by sales from their foreign
subsidiaries located in host country
markets. In 1997, sales from U.S.-
owned food processing plants
abroad totaled about $134 billion¡ª
over four times larger than U.S.
processed food exports.
