摘要：In many low-income food deficit countries agricultural sectors have performed at
full capacity. For these countries, as well as those where potential for agricultural growth is
quite limited, commercial imports could play a major role in their future food security position.
The objective of this article is to review the trends in import dependency, the contribution
of food aid to food supplies, and factors affecting commercial import capacity in the
countries of North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
