This study aimed to investigate the view of violence (maltreatment and aggressions) against institutionalized elderly people, using the bioecological approach on human development (BTHD) (2005).. Fifteen elderly people (73 to 93 years old; M= 82,27; SD= 5,48), 10 female (n=10) and 5 male were interviewed about bio-socio-demographic data and victimization. Associated to the ecological engagement (Cecconello & Koller, 2004), the interview allowed the report of verbal aggression, insults, negligence, financial abuse, and to a lesser extent, physical aggression. The need for a gerontologic education became evident, consequently people may learn about aging processes, contributing to the improvement of life quality of aging human beings.
