摘要:R.Malthus (1778) stated that the relationship between income per capita and population was positive, and technological progress and population growth were glacial by- modern standards, I and income per capita was roughly constant and the economy was in a Malthusian "pseudo- steady-state". But, according to all the economic historians, economic growth in the twentieth century is without precedent in the history of mankind. The evidence is quite strong of a close link between investments in human capital and economic growth. For this reason, this paper analyses 75 countries to estimate the determinants of economic growth in the period 1960- 1995. According to the results of estimation, the growth rate of real per capita GDP is positively related to human capital. The findings of this paper also show that the elasticity of the growth rate of real per capita GDP to the human capital is 0.371.
