摘要:Biomass waste from agricultural production is perspective, hitherto unused and insufficiently quantified resource of renewable energy in Slovakia. The paper analyses and quantifies biomass waste arising from the agricultural production of the farms VPP Koliňany s.r.o and Oponice in the growing season of 2005. Crops grown on the farm were cereals, maize, colza, and common sunflower. Using harvest index, a biomass yield was calculated from economic yield values for individual crops. Biomass was expressed as a difference between biological yield and economic yield. Of this value, 35 per cent was calculated as waste biomass usable for energy. The total production of biomass waste (straw of grown crops) in the growing season of 2005 made 2,549 tons per year. In terms of energetic characteristics of biomass, energy value of dry matter and its energy equivalent (heat value), or heat were assessed. Also, the perspectives on bioenergetics are analysed from the aspects of sustainable development in Slovakia and performance of international conventions agreed in Agenda 21.
