摘要:The aim of this study was to elicit pre-service primary teachers’ knowledge level aboutmeasurement and assessment. A survey research methodology was employed in the currentstudy. The study group consists of 80 senior pre-service primary teachers. Data were collectedusing a questionnaire consisting of 11 open-ended questions. Qualitative data were analyzedusing descriptive analysis technique. The findings of this study have shown that most of preserviceprimary teachers preferred to use assessment methods such as essay, multiple-choice testtypes and question-answer technique to determine students’ success and performance. In thisstudy, it was determined that most of pre-service primary teachers did not have sufficientknowledge about alternative assessment methods. Thus, pre-service primary teachers should notonly be given opportunities to experience these kinds of assessment methods and but also topractice them during their education period.
