In this paper the central concepts of the epistemology of Larry
Laudan and the analysis of some aspects of Quantum Physics as an example of
a research tradition - analysis unit proposed by its methodology – are
presented. Although Laudan represents an influential and important vision of
science in the beginning of this century, his ideas still have little impact in the
physics teaching research. This paper also contributes with examples of
tradition in physics that are not very explored in his work, but of great
didactics appeal in courses of physics history and physics epistemology for
teacher’s education.
