  • 摘要:Teachers’ continuous education has become a focus for educational problems’ resolution. Although supported and stimulated by the educational legislation, its practices of performance don't match teachers’ needs. Based in this scenario, and through a quantitative research, we aimed at assessing teachers’ education needs (at the 1st cycle of fundamental education) in eight districts from São Paulo. The sample of the survey was composed by 331 teachers and 8 education secretaries. Data were gathered through questionnaire and interviews. The results pointed the urgency of an effective connection between initial and continuous teacher education and a strategic planning for continuous education that allows the fulfillment of teachers' education needs.
