摘要:Executive functions can be impaired after a right hemisphere stroke. This paper
aims to verify whether there are differences between a clinical and a control
group regarding their executive functions’ control, as well as to describe the
frequency of executive deficits in a right-brain-damaged sample. Twenty five
adults with a single right hemisphere stroke (clinical group) and 25
non-brain-damaged adults, matched for education and age levels (control group)
were assessed with the following instruments to measure executive functions:
Verbal Digit Span, Stroop Test, Trail Making Test, Hayling Test and Wisconsin
Card Sorting Test (brief version with 48 cards). Group comparison demonstrated
significant differences in attention levels. However, the analysis of
case-by-case performance showed a higher frequency of inhibition and cognitive
flexibility deficits, evaluated by Stroop, Hayling and Wisconsin tests. Cluster
studies are suggested in order to characterize the performance in each executive
component.
