摘要:This study aimed to implement and verify the effectiveness of the “Family Interaction Quality Promotion” (PQIF) program, that guides and builds parental capacity, so that they themselves learn to deal with the contingencies of educational practices. 93 parents participated, with 87.9% attendance (average). The quantitative data, obtained though an evaluation form, revealed high parent satisfaction. The qualitative analysis of the accounts given by the parents demonstrated that they had gone through an intense process of self-knowledge and had presented some changes, such as: increased parental participation and involvement in their children’s lives, establishment of clear and consistent rules, the giving of greater recognition to adequate child behaviors and increased frequency of parental praise, reduced or discontinued corporal punishment. The program met its objectives, affirming that prevention and intervention work with parents is necessary to achieve increased quality of family interaction.
