摘要:Up until now, most research tended to study the influence of national, colonial and neocolonial cultures in the urban diaspora enclaves. Here we propose a different path: this study takes us on the return trip to the homeland, from New York to Puerto Rico, in order to analyze the cultural and musical baggage of the migrants on their way home. Willie Colon´s salsa or the hip-hop learnt on the streets of El Barrio or in the Bronx are a part of the remittances which are redefining Caribbean cultural traditions.
