  • 摘要:A multi-spectral 4 channel remission-spectroscope using integrated software was developed in order to measure the depth of burns in patients with severe burns injuries. This new assessment method was evaluated in a multi-center study. It was shown that the method is able to be used as a valuable tool to compare different treatment modalities leading to new aspects for quality assurance in burns patients. Hitherto, no other method was able to assess the depth of burns in an objective and reproducible manner yielding image documentation at the same time. The advantages of this new measure methods are that it is non-invasive, the fast image generation within 1.5 minutes and the ease of use even for inexperienced personnel.
