摘要:This article discusses the product development process. The main challenge consists of integrating activities, requirements and competences in order to improve efficiency of the entire process. In order to explain the integrated product development, a multiple case study of three automotive suppliers was carried out. They belong to the Automotive Chain of Rio Grande do Sul State and are among the leading suppliers in Brazil’s automotive industry. For this purpose, the mix of projects were characterized. The project teams in each company were analyzed, as well the channels of communication used and the participation of clients and suppliers during the product development process. The main findings are that, besides the constraints founded, integrated management is made possible by strengthening organizational culture, in order to provide the effective involvement of internal and external partners.
