摘要:This study aimed to (1) analyze whether the structure of compatibilities and oppositions of the value system of workers in a public organization in Goiânia (Brazil) reproduces the relations of conflicts and compatibilities of the motivational types proposed by Schwartz and (2) investigate the relations between these motivational types and the perception of organizational retaliation. The present data were collected in a sample of 251 employees of a public institution. The results show that the configuration of the value system confirmed in 100% the structure of conflicts and oppositions proposed by Schwartz, and in terms of compatibility on the location, it confirmed it in 85%. The analysis of regression revealed that the workers who prioritize the independence of thought and the choice of their own actions can notice the retaliation in the organizational context better than those who have their focus on values of impulse contention. This study allowed the analysis of the motivational structure of values proposed by Schwartz and the comprehension perceptions of the organizational retaliation nature,revealing the motivation subjacent to these perceptions.
