'Kitchen' guy was on 'Alias' as well
David Inman The (Louisville, Ky.) Courier-JournalQuestion: I am POSITIVE that the guy who plays Jack on "Kitchen Confidential" was also on "Alias" for a while, but I can't remember the name of his character! HELP!
Answer: The actor is Bradley Cooper, and he did indeed play Will Tippin on "Alias" from 2001 until 2003.
Question: My husband and I are huge fans of "Scrubs" and are upset that we haven't seen it on NBC yet this season. What's up? Was it canceled?
Answer: "Scrubs" hasn't been canceled; it will return to the NBC schedule sometime early next year.
Question: Recently, I have been forced to watch several episodes of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" on the Disney Channel. The actress who plays the maid on this show has a voice that is exactly like the shrill voice of the woman who was Mrs. Costanza on "Seinfeld." Her hair is a different color, but her face is similar except for the freakishly puffy cheeks. My question is: Is this the same woman, suffering through the effects of some cosmetic surgery gone wrong?
Answer: Gee, doesn't having bad plastic surgery sound exactly like something George Costanza's mother would do? It's the same actress, Estelle Harris by name.
Question: My child watches a cartoon on PBS called "Dragontales." I was wondering who supplies the voice of the dragon named Ord. It sounds so much like either Bill Paxton or maybe Bill Murray. Please tell me if I am right.
Answer: Wrong on both guesses. It's the voice of a fellow named Ty Olsson.
Question: I just saw "Dreamer." Elisabeth Shue plays the mother. I would like to know if she's the daughter of Cheryl Ladd. She sure looks like her.
Answer: Cheryl Ladd just called and said, "Ouch!" Not only is Shue not related to her, but she's only 12 years younger than Ladd.
Question: I need the name of a movie before I go nuts, or my friend simply has me committed. It was a Mel Brooks-like comedy about a bunch of gangsters in Chicago in the 1930s. The only thing that stands out was the head of the mob cursed all the time, but he didn't know English very well and always used the wrong words. I don't know where else to turn. My sanity is in your hands!
Answer: And I thought that was peanut butter! The movie is 1984's "Johnny Dangerously," which features Michael Keaton at the peak of his comic prowess, such as it was. It also stars Joe Piscopo and Marilu Henner. It's on video.
Question: Back in the 1970s my husband saw a movie with Andy Griffith as a bad guy who took some guys on some kind of deadly motorcycle ride. He would love to see this movie again. Is it available on video for rental?
Answer: That's the 1974 TV movie "Pray for the Wildcats," which also stars William Shatner and Robert Reed. It's on video.
Question: Quite a few years ago, I saw a movie starring Martin Sheen. I think he was an escapee from an insane asylum. He picks up a hitchhiking girl and takes her to a cabin in the woods. They end up falling in love, but the authorities get him before she can stop them. Any idea what the name of the movie is? Is it on video?
Answer: You know, you tell kids not to hitchhike, that they might get picked up by some lunatic. When they make a movie about that, and they fall in love, it kind of negates the message. That's 1975's "Sweet Hostage," a TV movie that also stars Linda Blair and Jeanne Cooper. It's on video.
