Pro-Line Dirt Hawg 40 Series tires
Martin, MikeTHE DIRT HAWG TREAD ISN'T A MEW for Pro-Line; it first appeared more than 10 years ago for 1/10-scale trucks running on 2.2-inch wheels, and it was a huge success. The race-proven tread has been updated for the 40 Series line. The tires feature an incredible 6-inch diameter and a low-profile sidewall that provide improved performance. The S-shape lugs have been altered to include a ridge that runs around each lug. Pro-Line claims that this outer ridge allows each lug to flex for improved traction. The tires also come with white foam inserts.
I installed the Dirt Hawgs on a Traxxas T-Maxx for some all-terrain bashing, and they easily ripped through off-road obstacles; the T-Maxx left a roost of dirt as its wake. I also ran the tires on a paved parking lot, which slightly wore down the soft M2 compound after extended running. Off-road terrain suited the tires best, but they still hooked up well on the pavement; the tires will wear more quickly there than on the dirt. -Mike Martin
