Door of Hope

This is a 20-minute video about enabling young African and Caribbean men with mental health problems to achieve their employment aspirations. It aims to change the 'mindset' of service users and providers by challenging their low expectations and sharing information about what has worked for those young men who, against the odds, have achieved their ambitions.

The video takes a positive, upbeat approach to the subject, but is also authentic and truthful about the lives of the young men, revealed through a mixture of discussion, individual narratives and case studies.

The video is produced by Loud Minority, jointly commissioned by the Unlocking Potential team of Mellow and the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health, and funded by the Lord Mayor's Fund and DWP. To order the video contact:
