Court prophets
Robert Stewart CastlereaghPeter Dula is too much of a gentleman in dealing with George Weigel and Rev. Richard John Neuhaus. I think these two are comparable to the "court prophets" in ancient Israel, giving us comforting and fatuous messages, assuring us that our political leaders are more knowledgeable than the rest of us and are not to be questioned. Balderdash! Weigel and Neuhaus have been given way too much credit for their understanding of the church's just-war tradition. I do not understand why the bishops don't simply tell them they got it wrong, as Dula does.
