2005 new products: manufacturers launch new business year, unveil latest products!

The 2005 business year has begun! Manufacturers are rushing to launch their newest products in a full-court press to attract the most interest and increase sales. That's good news for gun dealers, who are always looking for an edge to boost business and increase profits.

Here is our first look at the new products for 2005. In January, we will showcase more of the new year's products. That will follow with in-depth coverage of the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers Hunting Show and the SHOT Show.

NEW FIREARMS--2005

Sturm, Ruger & Co.

Ruger's Super Redhawk Alaskan big-bore revolver is chambered in .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. This 2 1/2-inch version of Ruger's beefy Super Redhawk has a Hogue rubber Monogrip.

The new Ruger Vaquero features a slightly smaller frame, grip and cylinder. Chambered in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt, it is available in a variety of barrel lengths and finishes and incorporates a new reverse indexing cylinder mechanism for ease of loading and unloading.

The Ruger Blackhawk is half a century old in 2005, and Ruger is manufacturing a limited edition 50th Anniversary Blackhawk in .357 Magnum. It has a 4 5/8-inch barrel, checkered hard rubber grips and old style Ruger medallions on a medium-sized Flat Top frame.

The Ruger P345 pistol will be available in a blue slide version in 2005. Like the current P345, the new blue/black pistol will be available with and without an integral accessory rail. A decock-only model will also be available in 2005.

The Ruger MKIII Hunter .22 Long Rifle, in stainless steel, sports a 8-inch fluted barrel, adjustable sight and is drilled and tapped for optics. It comes with a Weaver-style scope base adapter.

Ruger is offering a second cylinder chambered in .17 HMR for the New Model Single Six Hunter Convertible. The single-action revolver can now be fired with the new .17 Mach 2 and .17 HMR by changing the six-shot cylinders.

In long guns, Ruger's Frontier Rifle combines lightweight, small size, major calibers and a forward mounted scope base. It features a blued carbon steel action and barrel, mounted in a gray laminate stock. It is available in 7mm-08, .243, .308 and .300 WSM.

In rimfire, Ruger's 77/17 rifles are available in blued and stainless finish versions, chambered for the new .17 Mach 2.

For 2005, the Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle features newly configured sights.

Charles Daly

Charles Daly's Field Grade Mauser SS (stainless steel) is available in .22-250 Rem., .243 Rem., .25-06 Rem., .270 Win., .308 Win., .30-06 Sprg., 7mm Rem. Mag. and .300 Win. Mag. The receiver and bolt utilize dual, opposed forward locking lugs and a third rearlocking lug. Made in Zastava, Serbia, the Mauser features a fully adjustable trigger, forged stainless steel trigger guard, internal hinged forged stainless steel floorplate and a two-position side safety.

The Field Hunter VR-MC LH is available in 24-, 26- or 28-inch barrels, and features an aluminum receiver chambered for 3-inch shotshells. Barrels are polished chrome-moly steel.

The Charles Daly Limited Edition NRA Commemorative Diamond Grade over-and-under shotguns offer four grades, each with the NRA logo emblazoned on the underside of the receiver. They are chambered for 12-gauge, 3-inch shotshells and fitted with 28-inch barrels. Features include gold-plated, single selective trigger, automatic ejectors and five interchangeable multi-choke tubes. Weight varies from 7 pounds, 11 ounces to 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

Charles Daly Classic 1873 single-action revolvers, in stainless steel and case hardened frame, are offered civilian, artillery and cavalry models, with 4-, 5- and 7-inch barrels, respectively. They are chambered in .45 Long Colt and .357 Magnum.

The ZDA pistol features a chrome-plated 4-inch forged barrel, ambidextrous decocking control, a loaded chamber indicator and low-shot indicator. It is available in 9mm and .40 S & W.

The Charles Daly Superior .17 HMR bolt-action rimfire rifle comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts. It has a detachable five-shot magazine and features a rubbed oil walnut stock with hand checkered finishing, 22-inch barrel, and weighs slightly more than 6 pounds.

Browning

Browning's Cynergy over-and-under shotgun is now available in 20- and 28-gauge. They feature Browning's MonoLock hinge, Inflex recoil pad and Reverse Striker mechanical trigger. The 20- and 28-gauge models weigh 6 pounds and include Diana Grade choke tubes.

The Super Lightning Grade I over-and-under shotgun features a blued receiver with gold border, Grade II/III walnut Lightning-style stock and Schnabel forend. It is available in 12- and 20-gauge, with 26- and 28-inch barrels. Grade IV and VII Lightning grades feature sculpted engraving, walnut stocks and forends in gloss finish, and are available in 12-, 20- and 28-gauge and .410 bore.

The Citori XT Trap Gold features Browning's Golden Clays engraving, and an American walnut stock and forend with adjustable comb and GraCoil recoil reduction system. It is available in 30- or 32-inch barrels.

Gold Fusion Grade semiauto shotguns feature Turkish walnut stocks and forends with Silver nitride receiver. The HiViz TriComp sight system and shim adjustable comb are included.

The BLR Lightweight with pistol grip stock is offered in short and long action versions. It features a Schnabel forend in walnut with gloss finish. The short action version is offered in all WSM calibers, including the .325 WSM and .450 Marlin. Other calibers include .22-250 Rem., .243 Win., 7mm-08 Rem., .308 Win. and .358 Win. Long action calibers include .270 Win., .30-06 Sprg., 7mm Rem. Mag. and .300 Win. Mag.

The A-Bolt Mountain Ti is chambered in WSSM calibers for 2005. The rifle weighs 5 1/4 pounds and features a titanium receiver, stainless steel barrel, composite bolt sleeve, fiberglass Bell and Carlson stock and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad.

The Model BL-17 lever-action rifle, chambered in .17 Mach 2 rimfire, features a forged and milled steel receiver, adjustable folding rear sight and recessed muzzle. The tubular magazine holds 15 rounds. It is available with 20- and 24-inch barrel.

The Buck Mark Hunter .22 semiauto pistol features a round 7 1/4-inch barrel with integral scope base, Browning Pro-Target rear adjustable sight, TruGlo/Marble's front sight and Cocabolo target-style grips.

Winchester Firearms

Winchester's Model 70 Camo Ultimate Shadow features a free-floating barrel in a Mossy Oak New Break-Up camo finish composite stock with Dura-Touch finish. Chambered in all WSSM and WSM calibers, it includes a controlled-round feed action.

The Super Grade III, RMEF Model 70 features a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation seal on the grip cap and is offered in .300 WSM and .325 WSM.

The Coyote Lite Model 70 is offered in stainless and matte-finish blued models. It features a controlled round push feed with a carbon fiber/fiberglass composite Bell and Carlson stock with skeletonized aluminum block bedding. Lightning cuts on the stock forend and a Pachmayr Decelerator pad are also included. It is chambered in .223 Rem., all WSSM and WSM calibers, including the new .325 WSM.

The Model 1885 High Wall single-shot rifle is chambered in .270 WSM, 7mm WSM and .300 WSM calibers. The compact receiver with authentic, long top tang and free-floating 28-inch octagon barrel is drilled and tapped for a scope (no sights). The trigger is fully adjustable. The rifle weighs 8 1/2 pounds and comes with a fitted Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad.

The Model 1885 Low Wall single-shot rifle is chambered in .17 Mach 2 for 2005 and features a case-colored receiver, buttplate and lever, and 24-inch barrel.

In the Model 94 line, the Timber Scout lever action features a rail/base mounted to an 18-inch barrel, XS ghost ring and a four-round magazine capacity. It is available in .30-30 Win. and .44 Rem. Mag.

The Model 94 Legacy Cased-Colored Octagon and Case-Colored Round versions have 26-inch barrels. They are available in .30-30 Win. and .38-55 Win. They feature Marble's rear tang sights and will be offered with blued receivers and buttplates.

After 33 years. Winchester is ending the production of the Model 9422 rimfire rifle. A special, limited-edition run of 9,422 rifles will be produced in a Tribute Series and 222 in the Custom Edition. A High Grade Traditional 9422 and Legacy Tribute will be offered and features silver engraving, walnut stock and forend. Both models will be offered in .22 Long Rifle or .22 WMR. The 9422 Custom Traditional Tribute has hand-carved engraving on a silver plated receiver with gold-inletted. It has a finished and marbled walnut stock and is available in .22 Long Rifle.

The Super X2 Light Field 12-gauge, 3-inch semiauto shotgun weighs 6 1/2 pounds and features an alloy receiver and gas-operated action. Available with 26- and 28-inch barrels.

Super X2 Sporting Clays Signature II features a red anodized receiver and black metallic fleck paint on the stock and forend. It has two gas pistons and is available with 28- and 30-inch barrels.

The Select Energy Sporting over-and-under shotguns are now offered with polished blued barrels instead of matte blued finish. The line includes sporting and trap models with standard stock or adjustable comb option.

Nosler Inc.

Nosler Inc., the bullet maker, introduces a new custom rifle line in 2005. The NoslerCustom Bolt Action Rifle, chambered for .300 WSM, features a custom action with proprietary trigger and three-position safety. It has a hand-lapped, match-grade barrel and Turkish walnut stock.

NoslerCustom Ammunition includes more than 200 loadings for 39 hunting and varmint cartridges, featuring Nosler partition, Ballistic Tip, Accubond or Solid Base bullets.

NoslerCustom Cartridge Brass is weight-sorted for accuracy and consistency and packaged in quantities of 50. Varmint cartridges are also available in 100-count boxes.

European American Armory Corp.

The Thor is the first single-action, single-shot "buffalo" pistol made by the Italian manufacturer Tanfogilio. It is available in .223 Rem., .270 Win., .30-06, .308 Win., .375 Win., .44 Mag., .45-70, .50 S & W, 7mm 08 and 7mm Rem. The 14-inch barrel is available in blue; it measures 16 inches overall.

Weatherby

The Vanguard SUB-MOA hunting rifle is available in matte and stainless models and features non-reflective metalwork, composite fiberguard pillar-bedded stock with raised-comb Monte Carlo design and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. The rifle measures 44 or 44 1/2 inches and weighs 7 3/4 pounds. Calibers range from .223 Rem. to .338 Win. Mag.

Weatherby's Vanguard Compact rifle features a hardwood stock with 12 1/2-inch length of pull, non-reflective matte black finish on a hardwood stock. Monte Carlo design and matte-black metalwork. It measures 38 7/8 inches and weighs 6 3/4 pounds. Available in .22-250 Rem., .243 Win. and .308 Win.

The Athena D'Italia side-by-side shotgun, offered in 12-, 20- and 28-gauge, features double triggers and an English-style stock fashioned from oil-finished walnut. An Anson and Deeley action, cut from alloy steel, is hardened and chromed with Silver Slade finishing. Includes a Purdey double locking system, Monobloc barrels with lengthened forcing cones and backboring.

The Vanguard Sporter SS has a figured walnut stock with satin urethane finish. It features a 24-inch, #2 contour cold hammer forged 4140 steel barrel. bottom metal and floorplate constructed from steel and a lightweight alloy, and an M-16-style cartridge extractor.

The Vanguard Stainless rifle is now available in a package that includes a factory mounted and bore-sighted Bushnell 3-9X40mm scope, Uncle Mike's nylon mountain sling and Plano's Pro-Max injection-molded rifle carrying case.

Remington Arms Co.

Remington's Model 700 XCR (Xtreme Conditions Rifle) is available in 12 calibers from .270 Win. to .375 Remington Ultra Mag. The stainless steel barreled action features a proprietary Plasma Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating for scratch and corrosion resistance. The Hogue synthetic stock has overmolded panels in the grip and forend, plus a R3 Recoil Pad.

The Model 700 XCR Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) Camo rifle is chambered in 7 mm Rem. Mag. The rifle features the Elk Foundation logo engraved on the hinged floorplate, and a camouflaged stock in Realtree Hardwoods Gray HD.

Remington's new synthetic line of Model 700 SPS rifles (Special Purpose Synthetic) features receivers machined from a solid steel bar, a newly designed synthetic stock, and 24- and 26-inch barrels. The Model 700 SPS has matte blue finish and is available in 13 calibers. The Model 700 SPS Stainless has a stainless steel-barreled action, low price point, in six calibers. The Model 700 SPS DM (Detachable Magazine) is available in five calibers. The Model 700 SPS Youth has a 1-inch shorter length of pull and is available in four calibers.

Remington is introducing its first direct-from-the-factory custom-grade, single-shot target rifle: the Model XR-100 Rangemaster, Available in .204 Ruger, .223 Rem. and .22-250 Rem., the rifle is based on the Remington XP-100 pistol action. It features an externally adjustable Model 40-XB target trigger, varmint contour 26-inch barrel with concave target crown, and thumbhole stock.

The Model 700 VSF (Varmint Synthetic Fluted) and Model 700 VS SF II (Varmint Synthetic Stainless Fluted) feature reconfigured H.S. Precision composite stocks. The Model 700 VSF has a desert tan stock, the Model 700 VS SF II a tactical green stock finish. The heavy contour, 26-inch hammer-forged barrels have concave target-style crowns.

For 2005, Remington is chambering the .204 Ruger in the newly redesigned Model 700 VS SF II, the lightweight Model 700 LV SF, the new single shot Model XR-100, the Model 700 SPS and a laminate version, Model 700 VLS.

Remington has selected the .308 Win. cartridge for the 2005 Model 700 Classic, the 25th edition in collectible series. The rifle features a straight-combed stock of American walnut, 24-inch blued carbon steel barrel and short action receiver.

The Remington Custom Shop Model Seven AWR (Alaskan Wilderness Rifle) is now offered in 6.8mm Rem. SPC cartridge. A custom-shop version of the Model 504, the Model 504 Custom Bolt Action Rimfire Rifle, is chambered in .22LR.

A heavy-barreled target version of the Model 504, the Model 504-T LS HB (Target, Laminate Stock, Heavy Barrel), is chambered in .22 LR (Match) and .17 HMR. Upgrades include a free-floating, 20-inch heavy contour target barrel with recessed target crown and a brown laminate, Monte Carlo stock. Also for 2005, the Model 504 is chambered for .17 Mach 2.

In shotguns, Remington introduces a new line of moderately priced field guns, the Model 11-87 Sportsman. The Model 11-87 Sportsman Synthetic 12- and 20-gauge, with 26- and 28-inch vent rib Rem. Choke barrels, has a black synthetic stock. The Model 11-87 Sportsman Synthetic Fully Rifled Cantilever 12-gauge, 3-inch features a Monte Carlo synthetic stock, a 21-inch fully rifled barrel with cantilever scope mount. The Model 11-87 Sportsman Synthetic Youth 20-gauge, the first youth version in the Model 11-87 family, has a 13-inch length-of-pull.

The Model 870 Wingmaster Jr. 20-gauge, 3-inch has a high-gloss American walnut stock, a 12-inch length-of-pull and a 18 3/4-inch vent rib Rem. Choke barrel.

Remington's third limited edition shotgun honoring Dale Earnhardt is the Model 870 Wingmaster 12-gauge. The embellished receiver features Earnhardt's likeness and 24-karat gold inlay signature.

The Model 870 SPS-T Super Magnum Thumbhole Camo shotgun, in 3 1/2-inch, 12-gauge, features a thumbhole-style, laminate stock with palm swell and wide forend, fully camouflaged in Mossy Oak Obsession.

For 2005, Remington introduces two limited edition Team NWTF shotguns: a 12-gauge, 3 1/2-inch Model 11-87 SPS-T (Special Purpose Synthetic-Turkey) Super Magnum NWTF edition, and a 20-gauge Model 870 Express Jr. NWTF Jakes edition. Remington will donate a portion of each sale of the NWTF logo shotguns to the National Wild Turkey Federation.

The Model SP-10 Magnum 10-gauge autoloading shotgun is now available fully camouflaged in Mossy Oak Obsession. Also for 2005, the Model 870 Express Synthetic Super Magnum Camo, in 3 1/2-inch 12-gauge, is fully camouflaged in Skyline Fall Flight.

In the Model 870 Express line, Remington is offering the Model 870 Express Synthetic Fully Rifled Cantilever shotgun in a 3-inch Magnum 12-gauge, and a 20-gauge slug gun.

Para Ordnance

Para's six new offerings for 2005 are headlined by the OPS pistol. It has a 3 1/2-inch barrel, flush hammer, bobbed beavertail. GRIPTOR grasping grooves and three safeties. It weighs 32 ounces and measures 7.1 inches long and 5 inches high.

The Stainless Steel LTC pistol, with a 4 1/4-inch slide and barrel, features 7+1-round capacity, single-stack grip, spurred competition hammer and three safeties. It weighs 35 ounces and measures 7 3/4 inches long and 5 3/4 inches high.

The Hi-Cap LTC .45 ACP is Para's new Lt. Colonel pistol. It offers 14+1-round capacity and Para's black and green Spec Ops finish. It has a 4 1/4-inch barrel and slide with a green slide and frame.

The S12-45 Limited features a 3 1/2-inch match-grade barrel, snag-free rear sight and a Sterling finish: all stainless steel with a black slide and polished sides. The .45 ACP offers 12+1-round capacity and the Para Power Extractor. It weighs 34 ounces and measures 7.1 inches long and 5 inches high.

The Stealth Carry .45 ACP has a non-reflective Para Kote finish with black polymer stocks. The stainless steel pistol features a Novak Extreme Duty adjustable rear sight, 6+1-round capacity and GRIPTOR grasping grooves. It weighs 30 ounces and measures 6 1/2 inches long and 4 3/4 inches high.

The Para Colonel has a shortened slide and barrel, but still offers 14-1 rounds of .45 ACP. The black polymer stocks are offset by the SpecOps green slide and frame. It features three LDA safeties, Para Power Extractor technology and a spurred competition hammer. It weighs 37 ounces and measures 7 3/4 inches long and 5 3/4 inches high.

SKB Corp.

SKB's Parallel Limb Bow Case and Double Rifle Case have field-replaceable locking latches, a spring-loaded end handle, molded-in bumper protection and wheels. They feature tie-down loops and measure 41X14 3/4X6 inches.

The Paintball Marker System has an HDPE shell, molded-in bumper, steel locks and hinges. The interior features adjustable, padded dividers and a convoluted foam lid. It will hold multiple markers, barrels, air tanks and accessories.

The Mil-Standard Utility Case is made of polypropylene copolymer resin and features a molded-in hinge, trigger release latch system, snap-down rubber over-molded cushion grip handle and an automatic ambient pressure equalization valve.

Bagmaster

The Quantum Holster in double (Model 381) or triple retention (Model 380) is now available in ballistic nylon with hard-shell molding. The grab-resistant holster features an anti-blade design.

Weatherby's Performance Wool Heavyweight Classic Cruiser Jacket and Heavy-weight Classic Cruiser Vest are now available in charcoal gray. They feature 28-ounce fabric weight, made of a 80-percent wool and 20-percent nylon blend. Includes micro-weave lining of itch-proof mini-fleece.

Galco International

Galco's VHS Vertical Shoulder Holster System features a spider harness with four independent pivot points that are connected to Galco's Flexalon swivel back plate. The system consists of holster, ammo carrier and harness. It is ambidextrous and available in tan and black finishes.

The Matrix line of thermoplastic holsters is lightweight, injection molded and available in two models. The M5X, a concealable strong side, forward-cant paddle holster, has two tension screws for fine-tuning draw resistance. The M7X model has easy on-off belt loops.

The Galco Hidden Agenda functions as a day planner, yet has a holster/firearm compartment. It holds small revolvers and most semiautos with barrels up to 5 inches. Made from the same leather as Galco's handbags and briefcases, it is padded to prevent firearm printing. Available in black and brown leather.

The Weapons Light Case has an injection-molded rail on the inside of the leather pocket to hold a light just as it would on a firearm. Made of leather, the case's attaching loop has an on/off snap. It fits belts up to 1 3/4 inches.

Federal Cartridge Co.

Federal Cartridge Co. will offer six Premium Shotshell and Slug loads for 2005.

Mag-Shok FliteControl Lead Turkey Loads, in 12-guage, are copper-plated buffered and available in high velocity and heavy payloads. Federal reports FlteControl produces 30 percent tighter patterns than traditional wad systems. Twelve loads in 3- and 3 1/2-inch sizes are offered.

Mag-Shok Heavyweight Turkey Loads, in 12-guage, have extra dense heavyweight shot--35 percent denser than lead--with a granulated buffer. The high velocity loads feature Flite-Control wads. Four loads are available in 3- and 3 1/2-inch sizes.

Ultra-Shok High Density with Plus Shot Waterfowl Loads, in 12-guage, feature heavy payloads, shot that is 30 percent softer than steel, and high velocity. Four loads in 3- and 3 1/2-inch are offered.

Vital-Shok Premium Slugs, in 12- and 20-guage, feature the TruBall rifled slug system and low recoil. Three 2 3/4-inch slugs are available.

Gold Medal Sporting Clays Loads, in 12-guage, feature a one-piece hull, one-piece 12S3 wad, and offer a high velocity load in six offerings of 2 3/4-inch.

Federal Premium Wing-Shok Lead Upland Loads, in 12- and 20-guage, feature copper-plated shot and are available in eight shot sizes and payloads.

Winchester Ammunition

Winchester expands it Winchester Short Magnum Line with the .325 WSM. Browning and Winchester Firearms are chambering rifle in the new cartridge.

Winchester Ammunition reports the new cartridge delivers similar energies as a .338 Win. Mag. in a much smaller, lightweight package. Initially, three loads will be available in the .325 WSM.

Winchester Ammunition and Nosler Inc. developed a 200-grain Accubond CT in the Supreme line, and Winchester Ammunition developed a 220-grain Power-Point bullet in the Super-X line. Additionally, a 180-grain Ballistic Silvertip is available in the Supreme line.

Winchester Firearms is chambering the Model 70 in the new caliber. The models are the Ultimate Shadow, Camo Ultimate Shadow, Classic Featherweight, Classic Laminated, Super Grade RMEF (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation) and Super Grade III in Controlled Round Feed bolt. Controlled Push feed models are the Super Shadow. Coyote Laminated and the new Coyote Synthetic Lite model. All models feature 24-inch barrels with three-round magazines.

Browning is chambering A-Bolts in .325 WSM. The models are the A-Bolt Hunter in right and left-hand, the Micro Hunter in right and left-hand, the Hunter FLD, Stainless Stalker, Composite Stalker, Medallion in right and left-hand, and the White Gold Medallion.

Remington Arms Co.

Remington's Assisted Opening knives feature a patent pending opening assisted mechanism and modified drop and serrated modified drop blades of high carbon, bead blasted, stainless steel. The handles are lightweight aluminum with a gray anodized finish and rubber inserts.

In its collection line, the 100th Anniversary Remington Autoloading Shotgun Knife features an American walnut handle with a clip blade, serrated bone/cartilage blade, 12/20-gauge choke tool, screwdriver and pin punch. The limited-edition knife comes in a designer display box.

The 50th Anniversary .44 Remington Magnum Knife has a 3-inch recurved serrated blade with anniversary dates etched in 420 high-carbon stainless steel. The .44 Magnum headstamp is embedded in the stainless steel handle. It comes in a display box.

Ninth in Remington's Wildlife Knife Series is Tom Beecham's Timber Wolves. The multi-blade folder features a vintage bone handle, master drop-point 3-inch blade with an etched timber wolf scene.

The newest Remington Bullet knife is the Maverick, a multi-blade folder with a black cherry jig bone handle.

The three hunting knives in Remington's D-Series, a drop point, clip point, and skinner/hut hook, are now available with handles in Mossy Oak Breakup, in addition to the traditional black handles.

Remington's Country Outdoor Exploration Knife Series of four knives represent North, South, East and West. They feature the Remington logo and a compass face with the corresponding direction etched on the stainless steel, scotchbrite finished blade.

The new Sportsman value-priced series from Remington features folding and fixed blade knives in a wide variety of handles from Cocobolo and Zytel to Delrin and Bone.

Sturm, Ruger & Co.

Ruger introduces a line of knives through a licensing agreement with W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery.

The line is lead by a burnt honey bone-handled Trapper, inlayed with a silver Ruger eagle medallion. The knife comes in a tin featuring an image of the Ruger Red Barn in Southport, Conn. The knife's clip and spey blades bear the signatures of the company's founders, William B. Ruger, Sr. and Alexander Sturm. A collectible Case/Ruger medallion is included.

Eight additional knives feature black-bone handles with an inlaid silver Ruger eagle shield. The knives are packaged in string-drawn pouches and housed in designer tins.

Carl Zeiss

Zeiss introduces the Victory FL Binocular Series, featuring a new calculated optical system of special glass containing fluoride for accurate color reproduction. The new models are the Victory 7X42 T* FL, Victory 8X42 T* FL, Victory 10X42 T* FL, Victory 8X32 T* FL, and Victory 10X32 T* FL.

The binoculars are the first FL models, and use Zeiss T* multi-layer coatings and P* phase coatings for maximum light transparency. Screw-in, screw-out eyecups are lockable. The binoculars' housings are made of glass fiber-reinforced polymer with a glass fiber component and encased in rubber armor. The objective lens barrels are magnesium. The Victory binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen filled.

Bushnell Performance Optics

The Bushnell 10X35mm StableView binocular offers two stabilization modes. The normal mode compensates for up to 3 degrees of motion; the fine mode up to 1 degree of movement. The binocular offers 10X magnification, a 35mm objective lens, waterproof and fogproof construction and a roof prism with Bak-4 prism glass. Lenses are multi-coated.

The NightHawk Night Vision viewer features the Charged-Coupled Device. Thin Film Transistor and 2X optical magnification. It has 14 built-in infrared diodes, an extended viewing range of 1-75 feet and a five-way switch. The viewer weighs 12.4 ounces.

Bushnell's 4X2-inch Outdoor Camera offers 3.2 MegaPixel digital photos and features 4X digital zoom, a 1 1/2-inch TFT LCD color monitor, 16MB of storage and a USB port. The camera comes with Roxio Photo-Suite 5 imaging software, a carrying case and wrist strap.

Leupold & Stevens

Leupold's upgraded optics for 2005 includes the FX-I, FX-II and FX-III lines of fixed power riflescopes. The FX-I scopes have similar features to the VX-I, FX-II to the VX-II, and FX-III to the VX-III.

The FX-III models feature indexed matched lens systems, finger adjustable windage and elevation adjustments, and lockable fast focus eyepieces. The FX-II models have Multi-coat 4 lens systems, lockable fast-focus eyepieces and coin-click adjustments.

Leupold's compact, rimfire, handgun and shotgun/muzzle-loader scopes have been upgraded to VX-I or VX-II standard. Many models will have click adjustments and tactile power indicators, plus lens system upgrades. Leupold is also introducing new rings and bases for the Rifleman aluminum ring/base line. Also look for an upgraded Leupold boresighter.

Leupold's Alumina Accessory System for riflescopes includes protective lens covers, rubber eyepieces, flip-up lens covers and screw-in protective covers, plus colored enhancement and intensifier filters. All new Leupold Riflescopes are threaded to accept Alumina accessories.
