The abuse of children is abhorrent!
In the sacred treaties, the Chiefs of the Indian Nations, asked for schools. They asked Englishmen, brought up under the English system, for schools.
Hello?
Flogging, was common in English Schools, and some Boarding Schools, of the 1800s were known to lock the children, aged 8 to 15 years, in unheated dormitories every night.
English Canadian schools were based on the English system and "Spare the rod and spoil the child" could have been engraved over the front doors. I was physically abused at least once a year from Grade One to Grade Eight. In Grade Nine, I was beaten for speaking English in French class. My point?
Be careful what you ask for ... you might get it. Who do I, and every other Canadian over 50, sue?
