Letter: Make the world safer for animals
Mary RiceCONGRATULATIONS on highlighting attacks on pets. The Sunday Mirror is the only paper to do so.
I have a famale Jack Russell called Gizmo which is five years old and she is more human than some people.
She eats, sleeps and listens to me. I am disabled with motor nurone disease and when I fall, she is first on the scene. She licks my face and waits until I get up.
When go into my bedroom, my dog is behind me and she sleeps at my feet. The thought of anyone harming a harmless and defenceless pet brings tears to my eyes.
Whenever I come home, Gizmo is in the hall. Her tail is wagging like mad and it's her way of saying 'hello'.
If more newspapers highlighted this problem, the world for pets would be a safe place.
