On March 26, '00, my wife and I joined a European tour offered by Trafalgar Tours USA, Inc. (it East 26th St., Ste. 1300, New York, NY 10010; phone 800/854-0103, fax 212/725-7776 or visit www.trafalgartours.com). This tour was booked through our AAA travel agent from the Trafalgar Cost Saver catalog. Land-only price was $2,095.

This was our third tour with Trafalgar and our most enjoyable. The tour was entitled "European Galaxy" and lasted 28 days. It is perfect for individuals who want to see a lot of Europe but not spend a lot of time in one place.

The tour started in London, proceeded across the Channel and drove along the French and Belgian coasts to Amsterdam for the first night. From there we drove in Germany for some interesting stops and on to Switzerland, Austria and Italy and then via Monaco (Monte Carlo) to Spain. From Spain we went on to France, spending our final three days in Paris. In each country we had several free days of sightseeing either on our own as part of a delightful optional tour.

The best thing about this tour was the tour guide we had. This tour guide was an outstanding young lady named Mimi Greger. Within just three days she had all on the coach feeling as if they were family.

We had no surprises on this tour because Mimi had everything well organized and prearranged. Her knowledge of European languages had her at ease in each of the many countries we visited. She had all the answers, to questions on the rates of money exchange, the best places to eat, things to do and not to do, etc. She was a bottomless well of important as well as trivial information -- very gregarious individual with an outgoing personality who was a delight to be around. We would like to have her again on our next tour.
