Lover come back

How refreshing to see The Advocate use the words lover ["Decorating as Fast as He Can," February 1] and boyfriend ["Soft and Crunchy"] for a change. I recognize that many couples like to use the word partner; but I and many of my gay and lesbian friends prefer boyfriend, girlfriend, and lover Perhaps the term life partner has evolved into partner, but that's unfortunate, because the former sounds much better titan the latter. Partner is basically a word from the business world. The other words, with love and friend at their root, are much more emotionally charged and meaningful.
