Letter: It's a mad world
P SimpsonI WAS heartbroken after reading your article on the human cost of the carnage on Irish roads.
Patrick Quinn spoke movingly about the pain of losing his son in an accident in Donegal.
Most of the crashes on our roads are caused by people who are drunk.
The Government has ran a number of high-profile campaigns - but they do not seem to have worked.
I think the only way to save lives is to show no mercy to people who drink and drive: Anybody who is caught driving over the limit should be charged with attempted murder.
Locking people up will change people's habits a lot quicker than any fancy advertising campaign.
